We have finally redesigned our
own Web www.w-s-e.com.
This month's Newsletter is about WAP (Wireless
Application Protocol, Viruses, Rent @ Web, and MapPointer. A meeting with Postnet about
eCommerce is scheduled and we will surely return interesting information about it.
* WAP
An internet for mobile telephones. The speed for mobile
telephones is limited to 9600 baud (a regular dial up modem is about 6 faster) so it
will be limited for text only. The services will start with booking of things like taxi,
hotel room etc. Also frequently updated information and news is a candidate.
* Viruses
The latest viruses let the victim believe that it is a
Y2K fix.
W32/Mypics.worm is spread via email, emails it self to 50 other email
addresses in Microsoft Outlook. It also changes the start page of your Internet browser.
The virus modifies your computer CMOS (bios) and the computer behaves as if it has Y2K
problems. When the computer is restarted it ruins the hard disk. DO
NOT OPEN IT !
W95.babylonia has the capacity to download infected files from Internet.
This makes it possible for the author to upgrade the virus from on place. It is basically
spread via MIRC (a chat software) and tells the victim it is a Y2K-fix. DO NOT ACTIVATE IT !
* Rent @ Web
A prescription composed to optimise our customer's costs for maintaining of
their Web's as well as reduce costly paper handling.
Read more about it on rent
@ web.
* MapPointer
In previous newsletter we presented digital maps. Here is a
complementary product.
Instead of having an image on the web (that periodically must be upgraded), this is
a link to the providers server, that dynamically generates an image. It allows
customisation of size and zoom for the customer with only one hired "blip".
Check it out on under special
products click on Map Pointer. |
